In Karaganda, a schoolboy passed away after complaining of a cold, reports Tengrinews.kz correspondent.

Thirteen-year-old Damir Bulumbaev died last weekend. His family believes he could have been saved. It was reported that over the course of a week, the boy experienced periodic fever, and in the last few days, he complained of pain in his calf muscles.

For several days, the teenager's mother called an ambulance to their home three times and even took her son to a clinic. At that time, doctors claimed the boy had a cold.

"The second time the ambulance was called, it was because Damir had pain in his calf muscles. The paramedic arrived and said it was still just a cold. She suggested administering a pain-relieving injection for the calf pain. After the injection, his breathing became rapid, but the paramedic said that was normal. She claimed he was pretending, that it was psychosomatic, and there were no grounds for hospitalization. The next morning, he experienced pain in the groin area, and Damir's mother called the ambulance again. The team arrived almost half an hour later and immediately hospitalized him. But it was already too late..." - recounted the boy's sister, Aliya Bulumbaeva.

The schoolboy died in the ambulance. Damir's relatives believe that the medical staff underestimated the severity of the teenager's condition.

"This is medical negligence. When we call an ambulance, we expect help. They should explain everything to us and provide first aid. They came three times, and our son died. We are losing our children... He was athletic, easily did a hundred push-ups, and was our pride, excelling in school. We want this case to be addressed by the Ministry of Health and thoroughly investigated," said Damir's father, Duyssen Bulumbaev.

Damir Bulumbaev was buried on January 29. Classmates and friends from sports came to say their goodbyes. The news of his death was a shock to many.

"I called the ambulance three times. Moreover, the same team came twice. He was trying to convince them all night before his death that he was unwell. But the paramedic said the boy was making things up and exaggerating. Only the second team, called the third time, recognized that the boy was indeed in trouble. But they arrived 27 minutes later," said the teenager's close ones.

The health department of the Karaganda region reported that an independent group of experts is investigating the case.

"As a result of the preliminary internal review, facts of violations by certain medical personnel have been identified. All responsible parties will be held accountable. We express our condolences to the relatives of the deceased patient," stated the press service of the Karaganda region health department.
