The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, accused the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump of being unceremonious and violating established rules, partnerships, and trust, as reported by Tengrinews.kz citing Deutsche Welle.

On Friday, he spoke at the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

"The new American administration has a worldview that differs from ours," Steinmeier stated.

At the same time, the president noted, "we cannot change this," but "we must accept it and we will be able to cope with it."

According to him, Trump "disregards established rules, existing partnerships, and trust." Therefore, in the coming years, the main task will be to preserve the idea of an international community, he emphasized.

Steinmeier believes it is in the interest of the international community to ensure that the worldview of the Trump administration does not become "the only dominant paradigm."

"The absence of rules should not become the principle of reorganizing the world," he stated.

Moreover, the president emphasized that democracy is "not a business model" and not "a playground for destruction."

In his view, today in the United States, there is a "historically unprecedented concentration of technological, financial, and political power."

"As a democrat, I am very concerned when a small entrepreneurial elite holds the power, resources, and desire to revise a significant part of the rules of liberal democracy. And I am even more troubled when some representatives of this elite do not hide their contempt for the institutions and norms of our democracy," Steinmeier said.

He added that today "the affirmation of our democracy is at stake."

DW reports that U.S. Vice President James David Vance and special representative of the Trump administration for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, are present at the Munich Security Conference.

Recall that earlier in Germany, Trump's conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin was referred to as "an humiliation for Europe."
