The General Administration of Customs of China has accredited 78 Kazakhstani agricultural enterprises, reports the correspondent of the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The agency reminded that following negotiations between Minister Aydarbek Sapаров and the leadership of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China in Beijing in November 2024, a temporary working group was established to address the expansion of access for Kazakhstani agricultural products to the Chinese market. Meetings took place on December 25, 2024, and January 10, 2025.

“As a result of the negotiations, the Chinese side made a positive decision to accredit 78 Kazakhstani agricultural enterprises. The registration process will be carried out in accordance with procedures and published in parts on the official website ( http://dzs.customs.gov.cn ) of the Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine of the General Administration of Customs of China. Additionally, at the first meeting, the Chinese side provided suggestions and comments on the draft protocols for the export of beet pulp from Kazakhstan to China and the export of poultry, as well as on the veterinary certificate drafts for slaughter cattle and cattle hides,” the agency explained.

The Ministry of Agriculture has also submitted a request for training employees of Kazakhstan's veterinary and phytosanitary services on conducting inspections to ensure compliance with the veterinary and quarantine requirements of China and working with CIFER.

“Training will enhance the awareness of domestic specialists about the specific export requirements of China for agricultural products. At the second meeting of the working group, representatives from China expressed interest in importing horse meat and emphasized the need to expedite procedures for opening access for horse meat exports from Kazakhstan to China,” the ministry added.

The next meeting of the working group is scheduled to be held in person in February 2025.
