Organizations require time to resolve the matter, reports Vesti.kz, citing the Telegram channel Sports.
As a result, the 23-year-old tennis player will miss the upcoming three months and will not compete in major tournaments in Indian Wells (USA), Miami (USA), Monte Carlo (Monaco), and Madrid (Spain).
Additionally, in August of last year, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) reported two positive doping tests for Sinner related to clostebol. However, the athlete was able to prove that these samples were contaminated with a spray his physiotherapist used for treating a cut on his finger.
Initially, Sinner avoided disqualification, but WADA decided to file an appeal. The organization does not doubt that the player did not intentionally violate the rules.
“WADA acknowledges that Jannik Sinner did not intend to violate the rules, and that his use of clostebol did not provide him with any advantages in terms of enhancing athletic performance and occurred without his knowledge due to the negligence of those around him. However, according to the code and CAS precedent, the athlete is responsible for the negligence of his entourage,” the WADA statement reads.

Sinner is a three-time Grand Slam singles champion. Last month, he became the champion of the Australian Open 2025. He is also a two-time Davis Cup winner and the ATP Year-End Finals champion. The Italian's disqualification will end on May 4.
