The renowned Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo paid a staggering amount when he transitioned from a hotel room in Saudi Arabia to a permanent residence in the country, reports Caravan.kz.

According to Sportbible, the 39-year-old Ronaldo initially settled in the luxurious Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh after moving from English club Manchester United to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in December 2022.

Sky Sports reported that Ronaldo was set to earn approximately £175 million per year at the Saudi club, which would increase his net worth to $285 million, according to Forbes. However, part of this enormous sum was spent on his lavish stay at the Four Seasons.

It was noted that the Portuguese star brought his entire entourage to the hotel — family, friends, and security were provided with all necessities.

According to GOAL, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner booked 17 rooms in a two-story "royal suite" at the luxury hotel. The suite reportedly included a dining room, living room, cinema, and bathrooms adorned with golden marble, offering views of the city.

In February 2023, Mirror reported that the former Real Madrid star finally vacated the hotel, exchanging it for a more permanent residence believed to be located in an exclusive complex with high security and access to shops, restaurants, and gyms. The exact location of Ronaldo's home remains unknown. This move came after the 39-year-old reportedly had to settle a staggering bill of £250,000 (around $303,000). Certainly, for an average person, this is a massive amount, but for Ronaldo, it represents only 6% of his reported weekly salary of £3.17 million.

It is reported that the Portuguese superstar has an extensive real estate portfolio, including two homes in his hometown of Madeira, one in Turin, a vacation home in Marbella, and a £17 million property in Quinta da Marinha on the Portuguese Riviera.

Ronaldo, who was playing for Real Madrid at the time, also purchased a mansion in Madrid for £5 million in July 2010, with the property reportedly located in the prestigious La Finca area of the Spanish capital.

The former Sporting winger is completing the final year of his contract with Al-Nassr. Recently, he praised the quality of the Saudi Pro League, explaining that it is "better" than Ligue 1, where Lionel Messi previously played.
