The Bureau of Statistics has provided information regarding the ownership structure of Kazakhstan's resorts and health facilities, reports Tengri Travel.
Out of more than 300 resorts and sanatoriums in Kazakhstan, 288 organizations (86.5 percent) are privately owned, 44 organizations (13.2 percent) are state-owned, and 1 organization (0.3 percent) is foreign-owned.
The highest number of state-owned sanatoriums is located in the Kyzylorda region and Almaty. In terms of private ownership, Turkestan region and Shymkent lead, while the only foreign-owned facility is found in the North Kazakhstan region. Interestingly, 41 sanatoriums are registered as individual entrepreneurs.
As a reminder, at the end of 2024, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced which new resorts will emerge in Kazakhstan.
It was previously reported that the "Kazakhstan" sanatorium in Almaty has been returned to the state. Notably, the Tourism Committee has developed a plan for the development of tourism in the Burabay resort area.
