According to the prosecutor's office, in October of last year, a resident of Zhambyl region created a page called "for Islam" on Telegram, where he illegally disseminated video recordings from international terrorist organizations "Muslim Brotherhood" and "Uzbekistan - Islamic Movement".

Similarly, in December, a native of Turkestan region repeatedly shared video recordings of the religious extremist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir" through social networks WhatsApp and Facebook. The state prosecutors fully proved the guilt of the defendants during the trial and requested a prison sentence," the statement said.

The individuals found guilty of promoting terrorism have been sentenced to 7 years in prison, to be served in a maximum-security correctional facility.

The sentences have come into legal force.

It is worth noting that earlier, the National Security Committee, in coordination with the police and prosecutor's office, disrupted the activities of religious radicals in Almaty, Shymkent, and Turkestan region.
