The first month of spring will be generous with weekends for the residents of Kazakhstan. Tengri Life has prepared a convenient calendar of March holidays and weekends so you can plan your leisure and trips in advance.
In March, Kazakhstanis will celebrate two public holidays: International Women's Day (March 8) and Nauryz Meyrami (March 21–23). Due to the shifting of weekends, the citizens will enjoy additional days off.
As a result, in March 2025, employees with a five-day workweek will have a total of 14 days off, while those with a six-day workweek will enjoy 10 days off.
How Kazakhstanis Will Celebrate International Women's Day on March 8, 2025
International Women's Day (March 8) falls on a Saturday, so the day off is moved to Monday, March 10. This allows Kazakhstanis to enjoy an extended weekend:
- with a five-day workweek – March 8, 9, and 10 will be days off;
- with a six-day workweek – March 8 and 9 will be days off, and March 10 will be a working day.
How Kazakhstanis Will Celebrate Nauryz in 2025
Nauryz is one of the most significant and anticipated holidays of the year. In 2025, the festive days fall on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so the weekends are shifted to March 24 and 25 (Monday and Tuesday).
- With a five-day workweek, Kazakhstanis will have a break from March 21 to 25 inclusive – a total of five consecutive days off;
- with a six-day workweek: March 21, 22, 23, and 24 will be days off, while Tuesday, March 25, will require a return to work.
Professional and Other Holidays in March
March will also bring several professional and commemorative dates:
- March 1 – Day of Gratitude. On this day, it is customary to express appreciation and support the spirit of mutual respect among citizens;
- the second Saturday of March – Day of Land Management, Geodesy, and Cartography. This is a holiday for specialists involved in the development and cartographic support of the country's territories.
