The reference regulatory acts control bank has published an order that cancels state regulation of prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, reports Tengri Auto.
The order "On the recognition of certain orders of the Ministry of Energy as invalid" was signed by the Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev.
You can find the complete list of invalidated orders here.
Previously, Satkaliyev indicated that fuel prices in Kazakhstan are set to rise in the near future.
"For fuel, we anticipate a gradual preliminary increase starting in February of this year, as well as for liquefied gas - very soon. For commodity gas, we expect the first price hike for market participants in the summer," the minister explained.
The minister also provided an approximate frequency with which prices will be adjusted.
"We will be guided by the inflation corridor established by the Ministry of Economy. It is currently difficult to say exactly how much gasoline will increase in price, but it will be a gradual rise. There is no clear algorithm: it could be once a week or once a month. A lot depends on our negotiations with both experts and market participants," the official added.
It is worth noting that the state regulated prices only for A-92 gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas.
