The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced on his Telegram channel that he had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.
Earlier, the advisor to the President of Ukraine, Litvin, mentioned that the talks lasted about an hour.
"I just spoke with Donald Trump. It was a lengthy conversation. We discussed the possibility of achieving peace, our readiness to work together at the team level, and our technological capabilities, particularly drones and other modern manufacturing. I am grateful to President Trump for his interest in what we can accomplish together," Zelensky wrote.
The President of Ukraine also stated that he discussed the conversation with Trump with Scott Bessent, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, regarding a "new agreement on security and economic and resource cooperation."
It is worth noting that the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury is currently visiting Ukraine.
Zelensky mentioned that President Trump informed him about the details of his conversation with Putin.
"Ukraine desires peace more than anyone else. We are defining our common steps with America to stop Russian aggression and ensure reliable, lasting peace. As President Trump said, let's get it done," Zelensky wrote.
Just as with President Putin, Trump agreed with Zelensky on further contacts and meetings.
Regarding his conversation with the Ukrainian leader, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social network. He announced that the American delegation would meet with the Ukrainian side on Friday in Munich.
He stated that the conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky went very well. "He, like Putin, wants peace," Trump declared.
"We discussed many topics related to the war, but mainly the upcoming meeting on Friday in Munich, where Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead the delegation. I hope the results of this meeting will be positive. It is time to end this ridiculous war, during which mass and utterly unnecessary deaths and destruction are occurring. God bless the people of Russia and Ukraine!" – the U.S. President wrote on his Truth Social network.
