Retail prices for gasoline, diesel fuel, and autogas will increase in Kazakhstan

The Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, announced the timelines for the price hikes on gasoline and autogas in Kazakhstan. According to the official, fuel prices will start to rise as early as February. Satkaliyev assured that the initial increase in the price of AI-92 gasoline and diesel fuel will not exceed 5 tenge per liter.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan plans to raise prices for liquefied petroleum gas starting February 1, in order to align them with the actual production costs. According to the draft order from the Minister of Energy, the maximum wholesale price for liquefied gas will increase from 45,158 tenge to 51,932 tenge per ton. The maximum retail price will increase between 6 to 21 tenge depending on the region.

Electricity tariffs will rise

In several regions of Kazakhstan, the maximum tariffs for electricity will be increased. The order to amend the maximum tariffs for electricity was signed by the Minister of Energy on January 27. The document will come into effect on February 1.

According to the order, the maximum tariffs for electricity will rise as follows:

  • first group (Ekibastuz GRES-1 named after B. Nurzhanov) – from 8.27 to 9.5 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • second group (Eurasian Energy Corporation) – from 7.98 to 9.4 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • third group (Ekibastuz GRES-2) – from 13.17 to 15.67 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • fourth group (Topar Main Distribution Power Station) – from 15.32 to 20.84 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • fifth group (Zhambyl GRES named after T.I. Baturov) – from 17.73 to 22.58 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • sixth group (Karaganda Energy Center) – from 14.09 to 17.64 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • seventh group (Ust-Kamenogorsk CHPP) – from 14.27 to 17.82 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • eighth group (Sevkazenergo) – from 18.61 to 23.17 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • ninth group (JSC "Astana-Energia") – from 9.28 to 11.71 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • tenth group ("Pavlodarenergo" (CHPP-2,3) – from 18.25 to 24.29 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 12th group (JSC "Aluminum of Kazakhstan") – from 7.87 to 8.52 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 13th group ("Kazakhmys Energy" (JTEP, BTEP) – from 21.42 to 30.24 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 16th group ("Bassel Group LLS") – from 16.73 to 25.48 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 18th group ("Stepnogorsk CHPP") – from 28.97 to 38.67 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 22nd group (GKP "Kentau Service") – from 7.07 to 37.12 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 23rd group (GKP Arkalyk TEP) – from 8.44 to 13.13 tenge per kilowatt-hour;
  • 26th group ("Almaty Electric Stations" CHPP-1, 2, 3, Kapshagay HPP, Cascade HPP) – from 17.82 to 20.93 tenge per kilowatt-hour.
