The former head coach of the Kazakhstan national football team, Stanislav Cherchesov, spoke about his flamboyant behavior during press conferences, as reported by Caravan.kz.
The Russian specialist, whose contract was terminated at the end of January, stated that he expressed his thoughts candidly during controversial press conferences.
“At press conferences, when I hear a question, I react as I am, without fabricating anything, answering as I understand and feel. I don’t aim to please anyone specifically. This is both a plus and a minus, probably, depending on the situation. Just the other day, a Kazakh journalist wrote to me: ‘What will we do without you? You’re leaving us without work.’ By the way, this is a large country, where there are not just two or three bloggers writing about football and sometimes nonsense. So believe not the rumors, but the official sources. For instance, what I am saying right now in this interview,” Stanislav Cherchesov told Sport-Express.
Cherchesov was asked about a journalist who wore a PSG jacket, asked a question in Kazakh, and received an inappropriate joke from the Russian specialist. The Russian stated that he hadn’t seen that journalist since but wanted to gift him a Kazakhstan national team jacket.
