Starting April 20, 2025, Air Astana will commence flights to India on the route from Almaty to Mumbai, according to a report from the Kapital.kz business information center citing the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
Flights will be operated three times a week using Airbus aircraft.
“The number of passenger flights between the countries will increase to 21 per week across four routes operated by three airlines. Currently, regular flights on the Almaty – Delhi route are operated by Air Astana and IndiGo, with seven flights per week, while the Almaty – Goa route has SCAT operating two flights and the Astana – Goa route has Fly Arystan with two flights,” the ministry noted.
It was previously reported that Air Astana is expanding its route network to China with a new flight to Guangzhou, which will launch on March 30, 2025. Flights will be operated three times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays — using the comfortable Airbus A321LR aircraft.
Currently, Air Astana operates seven flights per week to Beijing from Almaty and Astana, as well as four flights per week to Urumqi from Almaty. Kazakh citizens can stay in China without a visa for up to 30 days.
During the spring-summer navigation period, Air Astana will replace flights to Phu Quoc with a new seasonal route to Nha Trang (Vietnam).
