As previously reported by the regional police press service, following operational measures regarding the murder of a 27-year-old resident of the city, officers detained a 50-year-old suspect.
"The investigative team of the Karaganda region police has taken him into custody. It has been established that the motive behind the suspect's serious crime was financial gain. The man attempted to seize the store's cash register using violence and threatened the cashier with a knife. However, the cashier resisted, during which she sustained knife wounds that ultimately led to her death," the police stated.

A special investigative operational group consisting of experienced police officers from the city and region has been formed to handle the murder case. The leadership of the police department and the regional prosecutor's office have taken immediate control over the investigation and resolution of the case.
On January 22, footage emerged on social media showing the cashier engaged in a struggle with the armed robber, which resulted in her death. According to local media reports, the woman's name was Gulstan, she was 27 years old, and she had two children.
