According to Akorda, the president congratulated Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his fellow countrymen on their national holiday – Independence Day.
In his telegram, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted Sri Lanka's significant achievements in sustainable development and the strengthening of its international standing.
"Kazakhstan places great importance on further deepening relations with Sri Lanka. I am confident that our cooperation will continue to develop in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect for the benefit of our peoples," the congratulatory message stated.

On January 31, 2025, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the special advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, Akihisa Nagashima, a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament. He conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to the head of state.
