In response to journalists' questions regarding the European Union's stance on this matter, he emphasized that Kazakhstan is an independent country and will make its own decision on how and with whom to build the nuclear power plant.
"Which company from which country will construct the nuclear power plant is a decision that rests with your country. However, I can express my opinion that, considering Russia's current policies, Kazakhstan should think about whether it wants to see Russia as its partner," said David O'Sullivan.
Previously, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev stated that all contracts and agreements with potential suppliers will undergo international anti-sanctions compliance checks. The government aims to minimize sanction-related risks.
