A screenshot from a school chat has circulated online, where students are invited to an event organized by a private feminist organization. The Ministry of Education has reported the matter to the police, Tengrinews.kz informs.
Information about the invitation in the school chat has spread across the internet, sparking outrage among Kazakhstanis.
The press service of the Ministry of Education noted that they are conducting informational and explanatory work with parents and teenagers.
"Efforts are underway to prevent the dissemination of information related to non-traditional groups in messaging apps, which could adversely affect children's perception and emotional state," the ministry stated.
Furthermore, the agency reported that they have contacted the police.
"The Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights has sent relevant letters to authorized state bodies — the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Information, and local administrations — to take necessary measures to prevent the involvement of teenagers in such groups and events. We remind that strict restrictions are in place in educational organizations regarding any activities that may impact the psycho-emotional state of students. Educational work in educational organizations is carried out in accordance with state educational standards and national values," the agency declared.
The ministry urged parents to pay close attention to their children's digital safety, monitor their online activities, and establish a trusting dialogue to protect them from potential risks.
Previously, a memo was sent to parents of schoolchildren listing dangerous groups and books. The memo includes names of groups and channels on social media, as well as books and anime that should raise particular concerns if their child is interested in them.
