Lada.kz reports that before her death, Alina Serikova confided in her friend Asel Shotkara about the events that transpired. The young woman vividly recalled the location where her assailants tormented her for over four hours. She requested that her family be informed that "if she is unable to tell her story herself." Among the available information were also photographs from the crime scene.
The brother of the deceased, Bauyrzhan Zholzhan, shared photographs from the crime scene. According to him, during the court session, the judge did not pay much attention to how accurately Asel Shotkara described the incident location. The family believes there is no doubt that the abduction, torture, and violence led to the fitness trainer's suicide. However, the court deemed the charge of "Driving to Suicide" unproven.
"When Alina and I were talking in the kitchen, she began to describe the room where she was locked up. Alina said that upon entering, she saw a light carpet, a Soviet-style bunk bed, light blinds taped at the edges, and a red "special uniform" similar to that worn by oil workers hanging inside. There were made beds (korpe) and cabinets. Through the peephole, a sign with the inscription 'BekTrans' was visible. During our kitchen conversation, she said: 'If I can't tell my story tomorrow, and they ask you, you will explain this,'” said Asel Shotkara.
She also detailed to her friend the three cars belonging to the suspects. For three days following her abduction and until her suicide, she was unable to regain her composure, haunted by horrific memories. Her relatives have no doubt about the guilt of all five suspects. Moreover, they insist (and expert analyses confirm) that the violence against Alina Serikova was perpetrated by all those detained, not just one as indicated in the case materials.
Currently, the criminal case is under appeal in court. The hearing scheduled for January 21 was postponed due to the absence of a lawyer for one of the defendants.
Alina Serikova jumped from a high-rise building in Aktau in May 2024 and died.
On August 21, 2024, a verdict was issued in another criminal case concerning the murder of a fitness trainer in Almaty.
