For January 2025, according to the fund, the amount of accrued investment income showed a loss of 284.86 billion tenge.
As stated by ENPF, the negative figure was formed due to the volatility of foreign currency rates and changes in the market value of financial instruments in which it invested.
"The main reasons for the negative investment income are currency revaluation due to the strengthening of the tenge against the US dollar from 525.11 to 518.14 tenge, as well as the decline in the market value of government securities of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan amid an average increase in their yields by 40 basis points. Market volatility in January was influenced by President Trump's threats to impose tariffs and a strong labor market.
