A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in the Akmolinsk region regarding the assault of a taxi driver by a client, as reported by Tengrinews.kz, referencing sinegor.kz.
According to the regional police department's press service, a 47-year-old man approached the Kokshetau police department with a report of being assaulted.
The victim stated that on January 28, he accepted an order through the InDriver app and picked up a client. During the ride, the passenger lit a cigarette inside the car without permission. When the driver pointed this out, he faced an aggressive reaction, leading to a verbal altercation. Consequently, the taxi driver decided to end the trip, stopped the vehicle, and opened the door, asking the client to exit. However, instead of complying, the passenger attacked the driver and inflicted bodily harm.
The police have already identified the suspect. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 109-1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan for "Assault." Expert examinations have been ordered, and appropriate measures will be taken based on the results.
According to law enforcement officials, such incidents occur quite frequently—clients often refuse to pay for rides and exhibit rude and aggressive behavior. In light of this, the police recommend that drivers install surveillance cameras in their vehicles to document all occurrences.
