Footage of the incident surfaced on social media. It shows a man in a ski resort uniform striking another individual, after which several people attacked him.
The administration of "Shymbulak" reported that this occurred on February 1, 2025.
"A group of foreign guests provoked a conflict with the employees of the ski school while under the influence of alcohol. The incident was halted by the resort's security service. The offenders were handed over to law enforcement officials. An internal investigation was promptly initiated, and necessary measures were taken in accordance with established safety standards," – stated in the GLC's message.
They also provided further details. It all began when the cashier of the ski school temporarily left her post. One of the guests, unable to receive services in a timely manner, expressed his discontent.
Ultimately, a "physical confrontation" occurred between the school employee and the disgruntled guest. Instructors from the resort arrived on the scene and took measures to separate the conflicting parties. Shortly after, a continued verbal altercation escalated into another brawl.
The police in Almaty commented on the incident.
"An investigation into the incident of hooliganism has been launched by the Medeu District Police Department. Five individuals have been detained on suspicion of committing this crime. They are being held in a temporary detention facility. Objective circumstances are being established," – reported the city's police department press service.
