Kazhydromet has warned residents of Almaty and other cities across various regions of the country, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.
"On February 24, 2025, adverse meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Almaty, and Karaganda," the message states.
Adverse meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm, light winds, fog, inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (pollutant) substances in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere.
On February 24, variable cloudiness is expected in Almaty, with no precipitation. Winds will be from the southwest at 2-7 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures will range from 0 to -2 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will be between 13 and 15 degrees Celsius.
Previously, meteorologists presented the weather forecast for spring in Kazakhstan. According to meteorologists, the upcoming season is expected to be 1-2 degrees above normal, but with sharp temperature fluctuations.
