According to Lada, citing the press service of the regional Emergency Situations Department, the tragedy occurred on February 23 in the residential area of "Kalamkas." Four members of one family were poisoned by carbon monoxide. Three died at the scene, including two teenagers. One person managed to survive and is in serious condition at a regional multi-specialty hospital.
The press service of the Munaily District Akimat stated that financial assistance has been provided to the family of the deceased.
According to preliminary reports, the house's heating stove lacked a chimney. As a result, the toxic gas did not escape outside and spread throughout the rooms.
Earlier, in the fall of 2024, a similar incident occurred in the Kostanay region, where three children and their grandfather died from poisoning.
