The Akmolinskaya Region Department reported that on January 31, another case of investment fraud was registered in the Burabay district police. This time, a local resident fell victim to the scam, handing over 4 million tenge to the fraudsters in just four days. According to him, the strangers persuaded him from January 25 to 29, promising dividends from the invested funds.
"The Akmolin resident trusted the criminals so much that he even took out two loans of 2 million tenge each and gave all the money to the fraudsters. A similar incident occurred earlier in the Arshaly district: a pensioner also trusted the scammers, who promised her profits from stock investments, and ended up giving them over 400,000 tenge," the department reported.
The police urge citizens to remain vigilant and avoid participating in dubious financial transactions. Under no circumstances should individuals transfer funds to third-party accounts, especially if it involves taking out loans at the request of unknown individuals.
