As reported by the "My City" portal, cases of bird deaths were recorded at the end of December 2024. It was mentioned that all birds and eggs were disposed of – incinerated right at the enterprise's premises.

"Pathological material studies from December 31, 2024, showed a positive result for pasteurellosis. The death of birds at the LLP 'Agrofirm AKAS' reached 126,000 individuals. By the decision of the akim of the Baykonys rural district in the Baiterek region, restrictive measures were implemented at the poultry farm on December 31," – veterinarians reported.

It is noted that mechanical cleaning and disinfection were carried out in the poultry facilities.

Pasteurellosis is also dangerous for humans. Infection can occur through airborne droplets, contact with an infected animal, or by consuming food or water that contains pasteurella bacteria. Furthermore, pasteurellosis can be transmitted through bites from infected animals (cats, dogs, rats, rabbits, pigs).

It was previously reported that the carcasses of seals and birds are decomposing near Aktau.
