According to the national road operator, the checkpoint has been opened on the section of the republican highway from 615 to 967 km, which connects Almaty – Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk – Shemonaikha – Russia border.
"Emergency services have provided transportation escort, assisted drivers, and monitored traffic safety," noted "KazAvtoZhol".
Rescuers urge drivers to exercise caution and take weather conditions into account, strictly adhering to safety measures on the road.
It was previously reported that a convoy of 200 vehicles got stuck on the highway in the Abai region.
