The former Russian tennis player Alexander Bublik, representing Kazakhstan, asked his wife and their young son to leave the stands when they came to support him at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, as reported by Caravan.kz.
The reason for Bublik's unexpected action was that his son began to cry loudly during his serve.
“This is mine, excuse me,” Bublik explained to the referee.
He then turned to the stands and addressed his wife.
“Tanya, please leave,” Alexander Bublik ordered.
Ultimately, the match continued and ended in defeat for Bublik. It was a first-round match against Jakub Menšik from the Czech Republic. Bublik and Menšik are close in the ATP rankings: the Kazakh is ranked 49th, while the Czech is 47th.
Earlier, Alexander Bublik admitted that after retiring from his career, he would not stay in Kazakhstan but would live in his native Russia.
