According to the Ministry of Culture and Information, the competition aims to develop the national piano school and support gifted young musicians, as well as to promote classical and academic music, the works of Kazakh composers, and piano performance. The organizers aim to enhance the participants' performance skills, assist in their professional growth, and prepare them for international projects. Additionally, they seek to draw attention to classical music and create opportunities for experience exchange between teachers and students.
The competition is open to young pianists aged 7 to 18 who are studying "Piano" at cultural and arts educational institutions in Kazakhstan. However, previous winners of the Grand Prix and first places in past competitions are not eligible to participate in the current competition within their age category. The competition is held in four age groups: 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-15 years, and 16-18 years.
On the first day of the competition, a drawing and audition for participants in category "C" took place, along with a master class by Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Tebenikhin. The online broadcast of the competition is available on the KazNUI YouTube channel.
