In Zhezkazgan, the head of the regional Culture Department was convicted of corruption.

The investigation has revealed that officials unlawfully entered into an additional agreement for organizing cultural events in Zhezkazgan, amounting to 3.9 million tenge. In this criminal scheme, involved were the head of the language development department, Sarbaeva A., the heads of the State Enterprise "Regional Scientific and Methodological Center," Zholasharova G., and the State Institution "Resource Center for Language Development," Ospanova Zh., as well as a representative from a private company, Talgat O.

The court sentenced Omar A. to 6 years and 6 months in prison. His accomplices received sentences of 1 year of freedom restriction.

Additionally, all convicted individuals are permanently prohibited from holding positions in public service and the quasi-public sector.

The court ruling has yet to take legal effect. According to the Constitution and the Criminal Procedure Code, the accused are presumed innocent until a final judicial decision is made.
