A monument to Ermek Serkebaev has been unveiled in Almaty.

A monument dedicated to the distinguished opera singer and educator has become a symbol of respect and remembrance, reports El.kz, citing the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On January 16, a solemn ceremony was held in Almaty to unveil a monument dedicated to the great opera singer, actor, and educator Ermek Serkebaev. The monument is located on Abilay Khan Avenue, in front of the building of the Kurmangazy Kazakh State Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva, the akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosaev, relatives of Ermek Serkebaev – his brother Murat Serkebaev and son Baigali Serkebaev, as well as representatives of the creative intelligentsia, residents, and guests of the city.

Minister Aida Balaeva noted that this monument is a tribute to a great son of Kazakhstan, whose spiritual legacy will forever remain in the hearts of the people. She emphasized that Ermek Serkebaev made an invaluable contribution to the development of Kazakh opera and actively participated in the social and political life of the country, contributing to the strengthening of Independence.

The bronze sculpture, brought to life by the artisans Aidos Burkitbaev, Timur Ermukhametov, Akylbek Ormanbekov, and Kuanish Asylbay, is a testament to their skill. The Minister expressed her gratitude to the sculptors for their accurate and emotive portrayal of Ermek Serkebaev.
