On January 13, the Chamber Hall named after Kulyash Baiseitova at the Astana Opera will host the continuation of the "Musical Alliance" series. This year, the series will kick off with a concert celebrating the 340th anniversary of one of the greatest composers in history, Johann Sebastian Bach. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with the immortal sonatas and suites of the great master, as reported by IAEl.kz, citing the theater's press service.

The sonatas and partitas for solo violin by J.S. Bach are regarded as the pinnacle of compositional art from the Baroque era. These works, composed in the early 18th century, continue to amaze with their emotional depth and technical complexity. Each chord and every passage in these pieces encapsulates the composer’s philosophical reflections on life, faith, and human destiny.

The 340th anniversary of J.S. Bach's birth is a wonderful occasion to engage with his artistry, as well as an opportunity to reconnect with the pure, inspiring music that remains timelessly relevant.

The project brings together the creative talents of renowned violinists from the republic, including Anel Shakirova, Akmaral Zhangazina, Madina Capeu, Yerkebulan Saparbai, and Asel Zhakiyanova. The musicians will perform under the leadership of the project's author and ideological inspirer, the Honored Figure of Kazakhstan, Bagdat Abilhanov. Notably, Bagdat Abilhanov recently became a first-degree laureate at the prestigious International Performing Arts Competition "Grand Art Express – China" in the "Instrumental Art. Violin" category.

Each subsequent concert in the series, by tradition, will be a true musical event, as well as an opportunity to learn more about the context in which these works were created. Throughout the concerts, musicologists from "Astana Opera" will assist the audience in gaining a better understanding of the composers’ intentions by offering informative mini-lectures that accompany the performers' presentations.

It is worth noting that the "Musical Alliance" series was established last year in 2024, bringing joy through encounters with both domestic and international musicians. Its main goal is to promote national and world classical music.

The concert begins at 19:00.
