The relocation of the Archive from Almaty to the capital was carried out in accordance with the president's directive. This is the first facility of its kind in Central Asia, where not only important historical documents will be preserved but also scientific and educational activities will be conducted.
The modern specialized building includes 24 archival storage rooms, a laboratory complex, a reading room, an interactive exhibition hall, and office spaces. It is designed to store various types of documentation: paper records, audiovisual materials, insurance funds on microfilm, and electronic archives.
The Archive's collection contains unique documents dating back to 1918, reflecting key milestones in Kazakhstan's political history, the processes of gaining independence, diplomatic relations, economic reforms, and the cultural development of the country.
The president also reviewed the progress of the reconstruction of the Kazakh National University of Arts named after K. Baiseitova.
As a result of the modernization, the area of the main university building has increased by 10,000 square meters, now totaling about 38,000 sq.m.
The updated university features a number of modern specialized spaces. Among the key innovations is a new concert hall with 1,100 seats, which will allow for large-scale musical and cultural events. Additionally, the building now includes a chamber hall for classical music, rehearsal studios, and art galleries intended for exhibitions by students and invited masters of art.
Visiting these facilities underscores the government's commitment to the development of scientific and cultural institutions, as well as the preservation of Kazakhstan's historical heritage.
