The premiere of Nomad Inspiration will take place in Astana.

"Astana Opera" has entered 2025 with exciting new projects. On January 25, the Big Hall of the theater will host the premiere of the program "Nomad Inspiration," created in collaboration with the ethno-folk ensemble HasSak. This program will feature traditional dance performances and instrumental music, as reported by IA El.kz, citing the theater's press service.

It is worth noting that this is not the first collaboration between the theater and the Kazakh ethno-folk ensemble HasSak. Last year, this renowned group performed on the stage of the Grand Hall with the composition "Amanat". At that time, the audience was presented with the choreographic piece "Rukh", choreographed by the talented choreographer and soloist of "Astana Opera", Sultanbek Gumar, which generated significant public response and won the hearts of the viewers.

At the upcoming premiere concert "Nomad Inspiration", the audience will once again have the opportunity to enjoy the work of Sultanbek Gumar, who has created new pieces to the music of HasSak: "Toy Bastar" and "Araly" ("Between Heaven and Earth"), as well as "Älem" ("Foundations of Existence") set to the music of composer Khamit Shangaliyev.

– In my opinion, the theater not only serves an entertainment function but also acts as a sort of school and library. Since I am currently working in the national direction, I want people who come to the theater to first learn about our history, and secondly, to show interest in our native language. I title all my productions in the Kazakh language because if someone wants to learn about the origins of a specific dance, they will seek out information, study it, and hopefully this will awaken interest in the Kazakh language and culture. Of course, before starting a production, I always consider what I want to convey with this piece and what its purpose is. Now, just before the premiere, I am somewhat anxious, but I believe that what we have created will resonate with the audience, – shared Sultanbek Gumar.

He explained that in the piece "Araly", he wanted to illustrate that nature and humanity are a unified whole.

- Our relationship with nature should essentially reflect the relationships we have with people: just as we nurture our connections with others, we should also treat nature with care – to preserve and value it. If we neglect nature, it will turn against us. As the saying goes: "Without water, the earth will not bloom; without a woman, a man will not flourish." In the new piece "Araly", men symbolize the earth, while women symbolize water, demonstrating the connection between humans and nature.
Regarding "Älem", there is a beautiful saying among our people: "A woman rocks the cradle with one hand and rules the world with the other." This emphasizes that a woman is not only the guardian of the hearth but also the foundation of society. The wisdom and bravery of our women are exemplified by remarkable figures like Tomiris and Domalak ana. Their strong yet gentle image is reflected in the piece "Älem," – he continued.

The director also elaborated on how the concert was created.

- I have deep respect for the history of our people, as it is a legacy passed down from our ancestors. However, we must move forward in step with the times. While working on the dance piece "Toy Bastar", which brings a festive spirit and reflects the hospitality of our people, I aimed to take the best from our culture and history, giving it a modern sound. In this number, I decided to incorporate modern technologies. It will be performed on stage by 20 pairs of young artists from our theater. The costumes also feature contemporary design approaches.
Another unique aspect of this gala concert will be our collaboration with the ethno-folk ensemble HasSak, which will accompany the performances. I want to emphasize that this joint program was born out of the audience's request. I believe that creative individuals should always support one another and create something together, as it allows for quality and rapid development. I hope that the live performance of the music and dance numbers, infused with soul, will leave a strong impression on the audience, – concluded Sultanbek Gumar.

Thus, concertgoers will not only witness the premieres of new choreographic pieces but will also enjoy performances by multi-instrumentalists from the ensemble, both solo and accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of "Astana Opera".

The concert begins at 18:00.
