Steve Barakatt will be the first North American composer and pianist to present his works on the stage of the Astana Opera Grand Hall. During the concert, he will perform a selection of his most iconic compositions, including Néoréalité, "Flying," "Homeland," "Cedars of Lebanon," "Lullaby" (UNICEF Anthem), and excerpts from his symphony Ad Vitam Aeternam.
“It is a great honor for me to perform at the prestigious Astana Opera theater on such a significant occasion. International Women's Day is a time to celebrate the contributions of women in all aspects of life, including their role as creators and nurturers of future generations. We hope to provide an unforgettable experience that inspires and uplifts,” noted Steve Barakatt.
The concert will feature the Symphony Orchestra, a children’s choir, and the ballet troupe of Astana Opera, as well as conductor Elmar Buribaev. Malika Tulegenova, the theater's deputy director, emphasized the importance of this event, noting that Barakatt's music has touched millions of people around the globe, and his ability to blend various musical genres will create a unique experience for the audience.
Steve Barakatt is a Canadian composer, pianist, and producer of Lebanese descent, who has sold over five million albums worldwide throughout his career and is recognized for composing official anthems, including UNICEF's "Lullaby."
