Year in review: Kazakhstan is solidifying its presence in the global arena for national art.

In the current year, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan has achieved remarkable results in the field of culture and the arts. This year has marked a significant milestone for the country, highlighted by numerous large-scale events that showcased the diversity and richness of Kazakh cultural heritage. Successful exhibitions, festivals, and tours have not only strengthened domestic cultural ties but also actively promoted Kazakh culture abroad. The Ministry is summarizing its accomplishments for 2024, as reported by IAEl.kz.

The press service of the department noted that one of the significant events of the year was the opening of cultural centers of Kazakhstan in Beijing and Astana, attended by the leaders of the two states, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping. The centers have become effective venues for cultural events.

For the first time this year, Kazakh art was presented at world-renowned art venues: the Venice Biennale and the Gime Museum of Asian Arts, which were visited by around two hundred thousand people.

The foreign tours of creative groups from Kazakhstan were successfully held, covering 14 countries, including France, Vietnam, Turkey, and the USA. These performances contributed to strengthening international ties and promoting Kazakh culture abroad. Creative groups were formed, including the multinational song and dance ensemble "Birlik" and the State Quintet.

In addition, 255 students in the field of culture became winners of international competitions in countries such as China, Italy, the United Kingdom, Austria, the USA, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Spain, and others.

An important part of cultural diplomacy was the Days of Kazakh Culture held in Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Furthermore, this year also saw the Days of Culture of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia in our country, highlighting the active cooperation and exchange of cultural traditions between states.

This year, the names of Kazakh figures were immortalized: monuments and busts of famous personalities Kurmangazy and Abai were erected in Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Tatarstan.

One of the most notable events was the grand opening and closing ceremonies of the V World Nomad Games, which gathered more than 17 thousand spectators. The closing of the games was marked by a spectacular concert by the famous Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen.

Another remarkable event was the immersive exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's painting "The Beautiful Princess," which created a real sensation, attracting over 37 thousand visitors.

Among the tours that took place this year, it is worth mentioning the production of "Abai," presented by the artists of "Astana Opera" at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. The performance received a great response from the audience, and the full house demonstrated the genuine interest of the Russian audience in Kazakh art.

The concluding foreign tour for "Astana Opera" this year was the performance of "The Nutcracker" in Dubai, which attracted 12 thousand spectators.

In Saint Petersburg, the concert of the State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Saltanat" was successfully held on the stage of the famous Baltic House festival theater. The event embodied interethnic peace and harmony, unity, and friendship among peoples.

The production of the opera by the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abai "Khan Sultan. Golden Horde" gathered more than 4000 spectators in Turkey.

It is important to note that a significant achievement was the launch of the information and educational platform "Qazaq Culture," which covers eight languages, including six official UN languages, as well as Kazakh and Turkish. This initiative aims to draw the world's attention to the rich cultural heritage and diversity of Kazakhstan.
