Herold Belgor would have turned 90, leaving a significant mark on Kazakh literature and the art of translation.

Gerold Belger is renowned as a translator of classic works by Kazakh writers such as Beiyimbet Mailin, Gabit Musrepov, and Abdiжamil Nurpeisov into Russian. His literary legacy encompasses numerous novels, stories, and literary-critical studies that delve into the history, culture, and literature of the Russian Germans. In his youth, Belger graduated from an institute, after which he worked as a Russian language teacher, and later pursued a literary career: in 1964, he became a writer, translator, and critic, and from 1971 onwards, he was a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, serving as the deputy chief editor of the German-language almanac "Phoenix" since 1992.

Throughout his creative career, Belger published over 40 books, including novels such as "The House of the Wanderer," "Tuyuk Su," and "Discord," along with approximately 1600 publications in periodicals. Working tirelessly, he released up to 7–8 books a year, dedicating himself to the development of Kazakhstani literature and translation.
