Tokayev: Kazakhstan is keen on developing the Altai tourism cluster in collaboration with Mongolia.

Following the meeting in a narrow format, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev and Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh continued discussions with the participation of members from the official delegations of both countries, reports inbusiness.kz citing Akorda.

The President of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the outcomes of the closed meeting and outlined priority areas for further development of bilateral relations with Mongolia.

– The Kazakh and Mongolian peoples are heirs of the Great Steppe civilization. Elevating our relations to a new level of strategic partnership serves the interests of both countries. Kazakhstan holds the Mongolian people in high regard and always celebrates the achievements of your country. Currently, significant political, economic, and social reforms are being implemented at your initiative. Important programs such as Vision 2050, "Food Supply and Security," and "Healthy Mongolia" are being carried out, – said the head of our state.

Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev reminded that there are close inter-parliamentary and intergovernmental ties established between the two countries. At the same time, there is significant potential for continued cooperation.

– We should enhance collaboration in the fields of trade and economy, agriculture, transportation and logistics, mining industry, industry, investments, new technologies, and space research. I am confident that the documents signed today will provide a serious impetus to the development of political and economic relations, – noted the president, emphasizing the importance of timely and quality implementation of the agreements reached by the governments of both countries.

The head of state also focused on strengthening cultural and humanitarian contacts.

He expressed gratitude to Mongolian athletes for their participation in the recent World Nomad Games held in Astana.

Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev also announced his readiness to increase the quota for Mongolian students in Kazakhstan and urged support for joint research on shared historical heritage.

Additionally, the opportunities for collaborative efforts in the fields of ecological, historical, ethnographic, and economic tourism were highlighted.

– Kazakh tour operators are ready to introduce Mongolian tourists to the ancient city of Turkestan, home to the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, and the Ulytau region, where the mausoleum of Juchi Khan – the eldest son of Genghis Khan – is located, as well as other tourist attractions. We are interested in developing a tourist cluster in Altai with Mongolia and creating joint tourist routes, – proposed the head of state.

Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev invited the President of Mongolia to visit Kazakhstan on a state visit next year.

Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh confirmed Mongolia's interest in strengthening ties with Kazakhstan across a wide range of bilateral agenda issues.

He expressed confidence that the agreements reached today would mark a new milestone in the relations between the two states.

The President of Mongolia described Kazakhstan as an important partner of his country and a reliable bridge between the East and the West. According to him, Ulaanbaatar is closely studying Kazakhstan's experience in economic development and will pay special attention to the effective implementation of bilateral projects in trade, transportation, logistics, agriculture, and space research. In particular, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh supported Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev's proposal to increase the bilateral trade turnover to 500 million dollars.
