Following the negotiations, the presidents issued a joint statement for the media, as reported by inbusiness.kz citing Akorda.

As emphasized by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the official visit of Umaro Sissoco Embaló to Kazakhstan vividly demonstrated that, despite geographical distance, our countries share common goals and aspirations.

– As a result of the bilateral talks, we reached important agreements. This visit will promote further strengthening of cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and other areas. Our countries are interested in maximizing the potential of the transport and logistics sector. We agreed to explore ways to connect the port of Bissau with the Trans-Caspian transport corridor in West Africa. This is particularly important now, as the geopolitical situation in the world and issues of food security are becoming increasingly serious, – stated the head of state.

According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, one of the key topics of the negotiations was partnership in agriculture. The parties noted that Kazakhstan has significant opportunities for exporting grain crops to Guinea-Bissau.

– It is essential to fully utilize the potential of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, established at the initiative of our country. We also discussed cooperation in the mining industry and the development of natural resources. In particular, there are extensive opportunities for joint work in the exploration and development of iron, phosphate, bauxite, and other rare earth mineral deposits, – he said.

Highlighting our country's achievements in digitalization, cybersecurity, and financial technologies, the president proposed to expand contacts in the digital services sector.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited the delegation of Guinea-Bissau to participate in the International Forum "Astana," which will take place next year.

– This will allow for a comprehensive understanding of Kazakhstan's economic and investment potential. Cultural and humanitarian ties play a significant role in bringing our peoples closer together. I invited young people from Guinea-Bissau to study at higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan. These measures will undoubtedly contribute to the activation of comprehensive cooperation between our countries, – noted the head of state.

Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on the international situation. The President of Kazakhstan stated that the positions of the two countries coincide on many pressing issues.

– We are united by a common approach to maintaining global peace and regional stability. In today's geopolitical conditions, it is crucial to provide mutual support and conduct consultations within the framework of the United Nations and the African Union. Overall, there are ample opportunities to strengthen comprehensive relations. Today's important agreements are a clear confirmation of this. I am convinced that Mr. Umaro Sissoco Embaló's visit will give new momentum to cooperation between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau, – emphasized Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Umaro Sissoco Embaló focused on the possibilities for strengthening cooperation in several sectors.

– Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau have the necessary mechanisms to activate interaction in areas such as natural resource exploration, education, and hydrocarbon exports. We are also interested in further deepening contacts within various international platforms and promoting our multifaceted ties, – said the President of Guinea-Bissau.
