A draft law mandates public officials, deputies, judges, and heads of state companies to disclose their income and expenses.

The provisions of the anti-corruption law will also apply to their spouses.

According to the draft order from the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan, starting in 2025, deputies, civil servants, and judges will be required to disclose information about their income and assets in an open manner, reports inbusiness.kz.

The draft order has been published on the NPA website.

"As of January 1, 2025, paragraph 9 of Article 11 of the Law 'On Counteracting Corruption' will come into effect, which states that starting from 2025, political civil servants, administrative civil servants of the 'A' corps, members of parliament, the ombudsman, judges, individuals performing managerial functions in quasi-public sector entities, and their spouses will be required to publish the information reflected in their income and asset declarations by December 31, 2025, and thereafter annually," the document states.

The list of information to be published will include:

  • the total amount of taxable income;
  • data on acquired or gratuitously received assets (including the country of registration and value);
  • information on disposed assets, funds in foreign banks, securities, investment gold, and shares in the authorized capital of foreign companies.

Information about funds held in foreign accounts, indicating the currency and countries where the banks are located, will also be subject to publication.

It is expected that the project will come into force ten days after its official publication.
