A 4% economic growth rate is insufficient for Kazakhstan. The government must seek sources for higher economic growth, stated the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in an interview with the newspaper "Ana tili," as reported by inbusiness.kz.
According to the president, a comprehensive government meeting will soon take place to summarize the year and outline new plans.
"The government's task is to ensure economic growth and improve the well-being of citizens. The Cabinet of Ministers is generally handling this," – noted the head of state.
However, there are also problematic aspects.
“I constantly demand more effective work and bold decision-making from the ministers. Society places high demands on the government's performance, and this is entirely justified and natural. Therefore, the government's work will be assessed objectively, based on specific results. The main criterion is the well-being of citizens. If economic achievements do not positively impact people's living standards, then they exist only in virtual reality,” – he concluded.
