A sanatorium and resort center will be built near Petropavlovsk, and a new hotel is planned to open in the city. The ongoing construction projects were visited by Gauyez Nurmukhambetov, the akim of the North Kazakhstan region, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center, citing the press service of the akimat.
A year-round sanatorium and resort center for residents and tourists will be established on the site of the former children's camp "Volna." The construction of the facility will take three years, with an investment totaling 2.5 billion tenge. The center will feature 150 rooms and accommodate up to 500 people. Upon opening, it will provide jobs for 150 Kazakhstani citizens.
"The implementation of this project will positively impact the development of medical tourism in the region," the akimat believes.
In Petropavlovsk, the new hotel "Samovar" is expected to open soon. The construction has involved an investment of 1 billion tenge. The "Damu" Fund has supported entrepreneurs in the implementation of this project. The hotel will have 34 rooms and will create 15 jobs.
Currently, there are 26 hotels operating in Petropavlovsk, accommodating 800 visitors.
The akimat noted that in the Imantai-Shalkar resort area, investors are implementing 16 projects for the construction of year-round eco-hotels and glamping sites.
"Such projects contribute to the improvement of infrastructure and the quality of services in the tourism sector, provide employment for the population, attract new investors, and create additional income sources for our region," the akimat stated.
