The Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan congratulated Ali Javad Al-Eid on his appointment as head of the IMF mission, which took place on January 28, 2025, noting that Kazakhstan has always valued the expert opinion of the IMF and its recommendations, which have become an indispensable resource for shaping the country’s economic policy and making important strategic decisions.

“Kazakhstan has been effectively collaborating with the fund for over 30 years, receiving its invaluable support. Our long-term partnership with the IMF is crucial for ensuring economic stability and achieving quality sustainable growth in Kazakhstan’s economy,” emphasized Serik Zhumangarin.

Meeting participants highlighted the positive results of implemented projects aimed at carrying out structural reforms, developing tax and budget policy, and enhancing the national financial market, where the experience and recommendations of the fund were taken into account. The significant contribution of the Regional Center for Development of the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia, which has been operating in Almaty since 2021, was noted in strengthening regional cooperation.

The Vice Prime Minister and the head of the mission also discussed the government's plans for financing the real sector of the economy, implementing tax and budget reform, and other aspects of cooperation.
