In the Zhambyl region, the LLP "Kaz Caspian Hydro Agricultural Technology" has launched a production line for drip irrigation systems. The head of the region, Yerbol Karashukeev, was introduced to the operations of the new enterprise, as reported by a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the akimat.
The project's cost is 2.8 billion tenge. The enterprise has created 30 jobs. Once it reaches full capacity, the number of jobs will double. Currently, the facility is fully prepared for the upcoming growing season: farmers will be provided with irrigation equipment for 6,000 hectares. Equipment for drilling wells has also been imported.
Yerbol Karashukeev emphasized that the enterprise will receive the necessary support. He pointed out the importance of the right balance between price and quality for farmers.
“The implementation of water-saving technologies will reduce water consumption and increase yields,” said the akim.
The regional head also highlighted the importance of involving local residents in the workforce.
In the region, the area of irrigated land totals 181,800 hectares, of which 127,300 hectares or 70.9% are irrigated using surface methods. Sprinkler systems are used on an area of 28,500 hectares, and drip irrigation systems cover 11,500 hectares. In 2024, water-saving technologies will be implemented across 15,200 hectares. In 2025, the plan is to introduce these technologies on 10,000 hectares, bringing the total area in the region to 64,500 hectares.
