The annual inflation slowdown in Kazakhstan was recorded in 10 regions by the end of October, while it accelerated in eight regions and remained unchanged in two. The highest annual inflation rates were observed in Astana and the Mangistau region, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center, citing the press service of the National Bank.
Recall that in October, the annual inflation in the country increased to 8.5%, up from 8.3% in September.
In October, the growth rate of food prices decreased to 4.9% year-on-year (compared to 5.1% in September). The highest price increase for this category was recorded in Almaty (7.4%), while the lowest was in the Turkestan region (2.7%).
The growth rate of prices for non-food products accelerated to 7.8% year-on-year (up from 7.6% in September). The maximum rate was recorded in the Turkestan region (13.2%), while the minimum was in the Zhetysu region (5.0%).
In October, the growth rate of prices for paid services accelerated to 14.3% year-on-year (up from 13.6% in September). Additionally, prices in Pavlodar region rose significantly above the national average (18.1%), while they increased significantly below it in Almaty region (8.3%).
In October, the monthly inflation growth across the country reached 0.9%, which is above the historical average. From 2017 to 2021, this figure was 0.7%.
