The country is making slow progress on launching major industrial projects. This was pointed out by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during an extended government meeting, as reported by the correspondent of the Kapital.kz business information center. The head of state instructed to synchronize the launch of large industrial projects with the recovery of assets that were illegally taken out of the country.
“The task of forming mid-tier leading companies in the country remains relevant. The government must complete the preparation of a work plan with each promising medium-sized enterprise by the end of June this year,” he instructed.
The president also noted that Kazakhstan has significant potential for the extraction and processing of rare and rare earth metals, including lithium, which is in increasing global demand.
“This means we need to attract investments and advanced technologies to this sector, focusing on both foreign investors and domestic entrepreneurs,” he believes.
At the same time, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that reform in the field of subsoil use must continue regardless of circumstances.
“This is a principled position that the government should firmly adhere to,” added the head of state.
