Throughout 2024, over 102,000 individuals received benefits due to loss of working capacity, amounting to 46.6 billion tenge, which is a 20% increase compared to 2023. The average monthly benefit amount was 60,407 tenge.
The social benefit for loss of working capacity is granted to participants of the mandatory social insurance system in addition to the state social disability allowance, which is funded by the state budget. Payments from the SSIF are made during the period of total working capacity loss, determined to be between 30% and 100% by a medical and social expert examination, and are not dependent on the continuation of employment.
In 2024, 67.9 thousand families received benefits due to loss of a breadwinner, totaling 33.8 billion tenge, which marks a 26% increase compared to 2023. The average monthly benefit amount was 64,772 tenge.
The social benefit for loss of a breadwinner is awarded to individuals who were dependent on a participant of the system, in addition to the state social allowance for loss of a breadwinner funded by the budget. Payments from the SSIF are made until the dependents reach 18 years of age, or 23 years if they are enrolled in full-time education.
In 2024, benefits due to job loss amounted to 88.2 billion tenge, with 293.6 thousand individuals receiving them, which is a 31% increase compared to the number of recipients in 2023. The average monthly benefit amount was 81,500 tenge.
The social benefit for job loss from the SSIF is granted to participants of the system regardless of the reason for their dismissal. The main requirement for receiving this benefit is registration as unemployed. Depending on the duration of participation in the system, benefits are provided for a period ranging from 1 to 6 months. The amount of the benefit is based on the average monthly income from which social contributions were made to the SSIF during the last 2 years prior to registration as unemployed and the duration of participation in the system.
In 2024, a one-time benefit for loss of income due to pregnancy and childbirth was received by 245.7 thousand expectant mothers, totaling 385.6 billion tenge, which is 11% more than the amount paid in 2023. The average benefit amount was 1,621,299 tenge.
The social benefit for loss of income due to pregnancy and childbirth, or adoption of a newborn child(ren), is granted for all days of maternity leave. The amount of the benefit depends on the average monthly income from which social contributions were made to the SSIF during the last 12 months before the maternity leave and the number of days of incapacity for work.
In 2024, benefits for loss of income due to caring for a child under one and a half years old were awarded to 276.8 thousand people, with an average monthly benefit amount of 86,758 tenge. In total, 672.6 thousand people received benefits in 2024. The total payment amounted to 404.1 billion tenge, which is 1.4 times higher than the amount for 2023.
The monthly social benefit for loss of income due to caring for a child under one and a half years old is awarded to participants of the system from the date of the child's birth. The amount of the benefit is 40% of the average monthly income from which social contributions were made to the SSIF during the last 2 years. In cases of multiple births, the benefit is granted for each child separately.
