The price of hard cheese in Kazakhstan has increased by 3.8%, as reported by the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the Bureau of National Statistics.
In January 2025, the average price of hard cheese in Kazakhstan was 5210 tenge per kilogram, which is 3.8% higher compared to January of the previous year.
The highest average price was recorded in Kyzylorda at 5941 tenge per kilogram. In Shymkent, the average cost is 5816 tenge per kilogram, in Aktau it is 5643 tenge per kilogram, and in Taraz it is 5642 tenge per kilogram.
The cheapest hard cheese is sold in the city of Konayev at 3492 tenge per kilogram. In other cities of Kazakhstan, prices range from 4000 to 5500 tenge per kilogram.
Over the course of 11 months in 2024, Kazakhstan exported 3.6 thousand tons of cheese and cottage cheese. The main importing countries included CIS nations, such as Russia (2.8 thousand tons), Kyrgyzstan (313 tons), Uzbekistan (225 tons), Armenia (106.8 tons), Tajikistan (45.3 tons), Turkmenistan (8.1 tons), as well as dairy products delivered to the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and Mongolia.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that the production volume of dairy products in Kazakhstan, in monetary terms, for January–December 2024 amounted to 617.7 billion tenge — an increase of 5.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
