Senator Marat Kojaev commented on the regulation regarding fines for warming up a car for more than five minutes, which is actively discussed in society, reports a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.

“This rule has been in place for a long time and is aimed at combating air pollution in large cities,” said Marat Kojaev in the Senate corridors.

The senator noted that the primary goal of this measure is to adhere to environmental standards.

“Our air basins are highly polluted, especially in big cities,” he assures.

Meanwhile, the fine for exceeding the warming time is 5 MRP, which amounts to 19,660 tenge. In case of repeated violations, the fine increases to 10 MRP — 39,320 tenge.

“To hold drivers accountable, irrefutable evidence is needed, such as video recordings and time stamps. If such evidence is available, individuals will face administrative penalties. Similar measures are already successfully implemented in developed countries,” added Marat Kojaev.
