In 2025, Belarus assumed the role of the presiding state in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union. This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.
"In this regard, I would like to draw attention to the following areas of integration that should, in our opinion, be prioritized within the union," he noted.
First – the development of the technological potential of the EAEU and the formation of a common cooperative space.
"Work is ongoing; we discussed it yesterday in a narrow format, but we would like to see greater practical returns from the adopted documents. I suggest that the commission, particularly the industrial block, focus efforts on finding new promising areas of cooperation and actively promote Eurasian projects," he said.

Roman Golovchenko specified that a more detailed examination of the entire range of issues related to industrial cooperation will take place during the autumn meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which the Belarusian side plans to combine in Minsk with an on-site session of the international industrial exhibition "Innoprom."
"Second. Activating cooperation in the area of digital transformation. Third, the international positioning of the EAEU and ensuring a full-fledged Eurasian presence in key external markets. It is necessary to take a proactive stance in international activities, develop cooperation mechanisms with observer states in the EAEU, and strive for a more complete integration of the EAEU, CIS, SCO, BRICS formats, and so on," Roman Golovchenko emphasized.

Fourth – the formation of the social component of Eurasian integration as an important factor in ensuring sustainable economic growth. Attention should be focused on issues of increasing effective employment, protecting workers, and the economic aspects of cooperation in social issues.
"And a very significant point, this year we are to commemorate an important date in our shared history, the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This memory must be cherished. I propose that the commission work on preparing and publishing a corresponding video clip that we could use in celebrating this date in our countries," concluded the Belarusian Prime Minister.

The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will take place in Cholpon-Ata and then in Minsk.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, stated that observer states of the EAEU may be granted access to the union's integrated information system. By the end of 2025, the EAEU intends to adopt all 77 common processes in the ICT sphere. Additionally, at the Digital Almaty forum, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov proposed to unite the efforts of EAEU countries in implementing joint projects in the field of artificial intelligence based at the Alem-EI center.
