At Transneft PJSC, the impact of the drone attack on the oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) "Kropotkinskaya" has been evaluated, according to a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center citing the company's press service.
"According to CPC specialists, the consequences of this strike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 months to resolve, which may lead to a reduction in oil pumping volumes from Kazakhstan by about 30%," the company explained.
Transneft reminded that on February 17, 2025, the Kropotkinskaya NPS was attacked by seven drones.
"As a result of the attack, the facility sustained significant damage: the roof was destroyed, the closed distribution device, gas turbine unit (GTU) were damaged, as well as cables and the cable trestle; a water tank was destroyed, and two transformers, filters, and the GTU fire suppression system were also affected," the company noted.
The Kropotkinskaya NPS was urgently taken out of operation. Oil transportation through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline is temporarily being carried out through an emergency scheme, bypassing the NPS.
It should be noted that CPC continues to transport oil along the Tengiz – Novorossiysk route. Oil acceptance from shippers is being conducted according to clarified technical capabilities for pumping.
Recall that the Kropotkinskaya NPS, located in the Caucasian district of Kuban, is the largest oil pumping station of CPC on Russian territory.
The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest projects in the energy sector within the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. More than two-thirds of all Kazakhstan's export oil is transported via this route, as well as raw materials from Russian fields, including those located in the Caspian Sea.
